International
After earning $3.9 million this weekend, The Hobbit finale's international total stands at a massive $697 million. It's earnings in China stand at an incredible $122 million, which is massively higher than Smaug's $77 million and Jouney's $50 million.
BOTFA's international grosses are particularly impressive when considering the devaluation of most currencies around the world. For example, in Russia it is the highest earning Hobbit movie in local currency, but is by far the lowest grossing when converted into US dollars. If BOTFA didn't have to go through this problem, it would've passed An Unexpected Jouney's $714 million already.
It's worldwide total stands just $10 million away from Smaug's $960 million. It may yet scrape past that mark, though it won't by much.
