Respectable Hold

In its 8th weekend, The Battle Of The Five Armies fell a respectable 41% to $762,000. This decline is slightly smaller than previous Hobbit movies (43% & 44%), but much larger than LOTR movies at the same point. This weekend's hold is solid considering the release of new fantasy film Seventh Son, and the fact that BOTFA lost almost half its theatres this weekend, yet it achieved a higher per-theatre average than last weekend.  It's earned almost $253 million and it remains on track to earn over $256 million by the end of its run.
